American Mathematics Competitions is a competition with a long history organized by the Mathematical Association of America (MAA) since 1950. The AMC are divided into blocks: grades 8, 10 and 12.The AMC8 is held in Vietnam for students from grades 4 to 8.
The AMC8 exam consists of 25 multiple-choice questions, with a 40-minute test time, built by the Mathematical Association of America from the Math questions of the Secondary School program. The main purpose of the exam is to give participants the opportunity to become acquainted with the in-depth forms of mathematics in the general education curriculum, with many questions related to practical applications of mathematics. From that approach, the competition aims to promote students' interest, passion and positive learning attitude not only in the field of Mathematics.
